Burn time for your Pillar Candles

When Burning your Pillar Candles do they look like this?

To stop your candles from burning unevenly or dripping there are a few tips that I can give you.

1st) when purchasing your candle make sure your wick is centered.

A wick that is off center will not burn properly and one side will get hotter than the other.

2nd) burn your pillar for 1hour per inch in diameter.  So if you have a 3" candle you should burn it for 3 hours. If you burn it less you will have 'welling' in your candle, if you burn it more you risk dripping and making a mess of your candle. 

Tomorrow I will let you know how to keep your pillar candle looking almost brand new :)

Trim you Wicks!

Always trim your wicks to 1/4 inch, 

unless told differently by manufacture,

 ie. PartyLite's 3 wick and tealight wicks 

should not be trimmed for optimal burning.

Why should your wicks be trimmed??

1) This will prevent the candle from getting too hot and the wax will melt too quickly.  This will shorten the burn time of the candle and possibly crack the holder it is in. 

2) Wicks are made of organic materials like cotton and wood.  When these items burn they all create soot!!  When you keep your wick trimmed you reduce the amount of soot produced keeping your holder from turning black.

How to make "pages" on Blogger.

To make pages on Blogger that update as you post you need to:

1. Go to new post and click all labels you want as pages. now publish.  When you look at your post it will say labels then all your labels .

2. Open 2nd window of your blog (just makes it easier) go to design

3. Go to layout

4. Add a gadget

5. Little box pops up, scroll down till you get to link list and add

6. Little box pops up now go to other blog screen and click on your first label copy the URL

7. Paste URL into the New Site URL spot

8. Give it a name (this will be the page name) ie Giveaways

9. Add, but don't close

10. Go to the next label on the other window and repeat steps 6-9

When you have added all your labels you can move them into the order you want and hit save. now you can move the gadget box where ever you want it.  Mine is along the top header spot on my blog.

Note your posts will go to your home page and to your link list page.  Then you can adjust hoe many posts you want to show on main page I show 1 or 2.
